Well no blog in August due to holidays and other busyness...
A great weeks holiday in Northern Ireland was had, plus a magical visit to coastal Donegal. Weather was a bit dissappointing, considering how much heat and sun we have had this summer, but I guess you don't go to Ireland for the weather! In between the showers lots of beaut walks and amazing views was enjoyed!
Also while in Donegal, visited fab artist Liz Doyle at her studio at Cruit Island. A warm welcome and a tour through her various wonderful works including a few about to be shipped to NY for a solo exhibition. Very inspiring.
Been busy on my Face to Face Group 'Penda project' and have got a 'show and tell' on Saturday. Been focussed on banners and stadards, pagan symbols, and wild boars...thinking about masculinity at the time of Penda, of the men and women constantly going to war. Working in print, cloth, and inspired by Liz Doyle experimenting in cold wax and oils. Feel like its getting there, ask me again after our meeting!
Also getting some pieces ready for an exhibition at Little Buckland Gallery near Broadway. Called 'Moments' it is a group show from Members of the ArtistWorkhouse from 29th September-7th October. Flyer attached, do visit!
