Scorchio! June heatwave

By mariaboyle, Jun 30 2018 05:31PM

Well its been another very busy month and I've only just managed to get my June post in!

July tomorrow! Its been an amazingly dry and hot month with fantasti blue skies every day! Currently my wethare station says 36C in my garden!!

We have also had the Romeo and Juliet exhibition and writers performances which all went very well. Had a good response to my new work, especially the lime silk 'Dreams'.

We now have the annual ArtistsWorkhouse Open exhibition, prize giving tomorrow!

The pop-up 'Cake house' is again selling its delicious selection of cakes, and tomorrow the bar will be open so will be a real party atmosphere.

Also another 'Face to Face' meeting, this time at Little Buckland Gallerty near Broadway where we will have our exhibition in April next year. Great gallery with many rooms of lovely pieces, worth a visit! Even though my name has not been officially picked out of the hat and been paired with an artist I am already thinking on our subject 'Penda of Mercia'. I spent a productive afternoon at the gallery last week doing a woad dye bath which I have not done before as a) it is an expensive dye, and b) its a very time consuming process.

Stlll I am pleased with resuts on wool flannel, linens and even leather!

Cant believe its July tomorrow...
